Foodpanda to Exit Thai Market by May 23

Foodpanda will officially cease its operations in Thailand on May 23, 2025, citing a shift in market conditions that no longer align with the company’s long-term business strategy. The decision was announced on April 23 through the company’s official Thai social media channel.

The food delivery platform, which has been operating in Thailand for several years, stated that continued challenges in the competitive food delivery landscape prompted the move. Rising operational costs, evolving customer expectations, and an increasingly saturated market were cited as contributing factors behind the company’s exit.

In its official statement, Foodpanda Thailand expressed appreciation for the support it has received since its launch. The company acknowledged the contributions of its customers, delivery riders, merchant partners, and staff who supported its operations over the years.

With services scheduled to end on May 23, customers can continue using the app until that date to place their final orders, according to local media outlet Matichon.

Foodpanda’s departure is expected to shift market dynamics significantly, potentially benefitting competitors such as GrabFood and LINE MAN, which may see an increase in demand as users seek alternatives.

The platform’s exit marks the latest in a series of changes in Thailand’s food delivery industry, which has been rapidly evolving since the pandemic era. The company’s long-term strategy, now focused on more viable markets, appears to have left Thailand out of its growth roadmap.

Representatives of Foodpanda Thailand, including local executives, shared their gratitude in the official message but were not available for further comment as of publication.
