Bangkok, 11 November 2024 – The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and key partners, presents Vijit Chao Phraya 2024, an extraordinary light and cultural showcase along the Chao Phraya River. From 16 November to 15 December, visitors can experience a nightly spectacle across seven iconic landmarks along 14 key locations, celebrating Thai culture with dazzling light displays, laser shows, projection mapping, cultural performances, and fireworks as part of the “Thailand Winter Festivals” series.
According to Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, “Vijit Chao Phraya 2024 reflects Thailand’s commitment to becoming a top global destination by showcasing our cultural heritage. We expect the event to generate at least 600 million Baht, boost tourism, and encourage extended stays along the Chao Phraya River.”
Highlights of Vijit Chao Phraya 2024:
- Rama VIII Bridge: Spectacular light and sound displays with lasers and music (16 November – 15 December, six shows daily).
- Royal Navy Institute: Dynamic laser displays (16 November – 15 December, six shows daily).
- Wat Arun: Light and drone displays celebrating heritage (select dates; up to two shows daily).
- Wat Kalayanamitr: Laser shows, cultural performances, and fireworks (select dates; two shows daily).
- Sunanthalai Building (Rajini School): Projection mapping with light and sound (16 November – 15 December, six shows daily).
- Memorial Bridge (Phra Phuttha Yodfa): Laser illumination and fireworks (select dates; six shows daily).
- Abandoned Building at Soi Lhong 1919: Dramatic light and sound displays (16 November – 15 December, six shows daily).
These free-to-attend performances will take place each evening between 18:00 – 22:00 hrs along various riverfront locations.
