In preparation for the New Year’s Eve festivities in Bangkok, Thai Smile Group, the operator of the city’s electric bus and boat services, has announced plans to extend their operating hours. Kulpornphat Wongmacharpinya, the CEO of Thai Smile Group, revealed that two of Thai Smile Bus Co’s routes, specifically the No. 4-1 EV buses from Phra Pradaeng pier to Bang Lamphu and the No. 3-45 buses from Rama III road to Mor Chit 2 terminal, will run continuously throughout December 31.
In addition to these extended routes, six other bus routes—No. 1-3, No. 1-2E, No. 1-37, No. 1-39, No. 3-1, and No. 4-36—already in operation around the clock, will maintain their 24-hour service during the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Thai Smile Boat, the electric boat service, will also join in the extended hours initiative, ensuring its electric boats run until 3 am on New Year’s Day. This extended service encompasses all EV boats, shuttle boats at Iconsiam-Si Phraya, CAT Tower pier, and the complimentary shuttle boat service from Bukkalo to Iconsiam piers.
Additionally, the City Line EV boat service from Sathorn to Phra Pin Klao bridge will be available until 3 am on January 1, specifically catering to individuals attending countdown events.
These adjustments in service hours align with the overarching goal of fostering a festive atmosphere in Bangkok during New Year’s Eve. The initiative seeks to provide convenient transportation options for both residents and visitors, facilitating seamless travel during the celebratory period.
